I like how you equated post-human thought with the extinctionism because I hear the case made that post-human ideas are merely the next phase of evolution. I sense that if the AIs replace us they will NOT be carrying the torch of humanity, so to speak, they will INSTEAD replace us with something that isn't fully alive.
However, I must acknowledge that the consciousness-jury is still out for AI (and even us, to a degree) and I could be proven wrong. Maybe is this just a new phase of evolution. If so, we should mourn the passing of an old way of being.
